| 1 ἐν τῷ χρόνῳ ἐκείνῳ εἶπεν κύριος ἔσομαι εἰς θεὸν τῷ γένει Ισραηλ καὶ αὐτοὶ ἔσονταί μοι εἰς λαόν 2 οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος εὗρον θερμὸν ἐν ἐρήμῳ μετὰ ὀλωλότων ἐν μαχαίρᾳ βαδίσατε καὶ μὴ ὀλέσητε τὸν Ισραηλ 3 κύριος πόρρωθεν ὤφθη αὐτῷ ἀγάπησιν αἰωνίαν ἠγάπησά σε διὰ τοῦτο εἵλκυσά σε εἰς οἰκτίρημα 4 ἔτι οἰκοδομήσω σε καὶ οἰκοδομηθήσῃ παρθένος Ισραηλ ἔτι λήμψῃ τύμπανόν σου καὶ ἐξελεύσῃ μετὰ συναγωγῆς παιζόντων 5 ἔτι φυτεύσατε ἀμπελῶνας ἐν ὄρεσιν Σαμαρείας φυτεύσατε καὶ αἰνέσατε 6 ὅτι ἔστιν ἡμέρα κλήσεως ἀπολογουμένων ἐν ὄρεσιν Εφραιμ ἀνάστητε καὶ ἀνάβητε εἰς Σιων πρὸς κύριον τὸν θεὸν ἡμῶν 7 ὅτι οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος τῷ Ιακωβ εὐφράνθητε καὶ χρεμετίσατε ἐπὶ κεφαλὴν ἐθνῶν ἀκουστὰ ποιήσατε καὶ αἰνέσατε εἴπατε ἔσωσεν κύριος τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ τὸ κατάλοιπον τοῦ Ισραηλ 8 ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἄγω αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ βορρᾶ καὶ συνάξω αὐτοὺς ἀπ' ἐσχάτου τῆς γῆς ἐν ἑορτῇ φασεκ καὶ τεκνοποιήσῃ ὄχλον πολύν καὶ ἀποστρέψουσιν ὧδε 9 ἐν κλαυθμῷ ἐξῆλθον καὶ ἐν παρακλήσει ἀνάξω αὐτοὺς αὐλίζων ἐπὶ διώρυγας ὑδάτων ἐν ὁδῷ ὀρθῇ καὶ οὐ μὴ πλανηθῶσιν ἐν αὐτῇ ὅτι ἐγενόμην τῷ Ισραηλ εἰς πατέρα καὶ Εφραιμ πρωτότοκός μού ἐστιν 10 ἀκούσατε λόγον κυρίου ἔθνη καὶ ἀναγγείλατε εἰς νήσους τὰς μακρότερον εἴπατε ὁ λικμήσας τὸν Ισραηλ συνάξει αὐτὸν καὶ φυλάξει αὐτὸν ὡς ὁ βόσκων τὸ ποίμνιον αὐτοῦ 11 ὅτι ἐλυτρώσατο κύριος τὸν Ιακωβ ἐξείλατο αὐτὸν ἐκ χειρὸς στερεωτέρων αὐτοῦ 12 καὶ ἥξουσιν καὶ εὐφρανθήσονται ἐν τῷ ὄρει Σιων καὶ ἥξουσιν ἐπ' ἀγαθὰ κυρίου ἐπὶ γῆν σίτου καὶ οἴνου καὶ καρπῶν καὶ κτηνῶν καὶ προβάτων καὶ ἔσται ἡ ψυχὴ αὐτῶν ὥσπερ ξύλον ἔγκαρπον καὶ οὐ πεινάσουσιν ἔτι 13 τότε χαρήσονται παρθένοι ἐν συναγωγῇ νεανίσκων καὶ πρεσβῦται χαρήσονται καὶ στρέψω τὸ πένθος αὐτῶν εἰς χαρμονὴν καὶ ποιήσω αὐτοὺς εὐφραινομένους 14 μεγαλυνῶ καὶ μεθύσω τὴν ψυχὴν τῶν ἱερέων υἱῶν Λευι καὶ ὁ λαός μου τῶν ἀγαθῶν μου ἐμπλησθήσεται 15 οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος φωνὴ ἐν Ραμα ἠκούσθη θρήνου καὶ κλαυθμοῦ καὶ ὀδυρμοῦ Ραχηλ ἀποκλαιομένη οὐκ ἤθελεν παύσασθαι ἐπὶ τοῖς υἱοῖς αὐτῆς ὅτι οὐκ εἰσίν 16 οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος διαλιπέτω ἡ φωνή σου ἀπὸ κλαυθμοῦ καὶ οἱ ὀφθαλμοί σου ἀπὸ δακρύων σου ὅτι ἔστιν μισθὸς τοῖς σοῖς ἔργοις καὶ ἐπιστρέψουσιν ἐκ γῆς ἐχθρῶν 17 μόνιμον τοῖς σοῖς τέκνοις 18 ἀκοὴν ἤκουσα Εφραιμ ὀδυρομένου ἐπαίδευσάς με καὶ ἐπαιδεύθην ἐγώ ὥσπερ μόσχος οὐκ ἐδιδάχθην ἐπίστρεψόν με καὶ ἐπιστρέψω ὅτι σὺ κύριος ὁ θεός μου 19 ὅτι ὕστερον αἰχμαλωσίας μου μετενόησα καὶ ὕστερον τοῦ γνῶναί με ἐστέναξα ἐφ' ἡμέρας αἰσχύνης καὶ ὑπέδειξά σοι ὅτι ἔλαβον ὀνειδισμὸν ἐκ νεότητός μου 20 υἱὸς ἀγαπητὸς Εφραιμ ἐμοί παιδίον ἐντρυφῶν ὅτι ἀνθ' ὧν οἱ λόγοι μου ἐν αὐτῷ μνείᾳ μνησθήσομαι αὐτοῦ διὰ τοῦτο ἔσπευσα ἐπ' αὐτῷ ἐλεῶν ἐλεήσω αὐτόν φησὶν κύριος 21 στῆσον σεαυτήν Σιων ποίησον τιμωρίαν δὸς καρδίαν σου εἰς τοὺς ὤμους ὁδὸν ἣν ἐπορεύθης ἀποστράφητι παρθένος Ισραηλ ἀποστράφητι εἰς τὰς πόλεις σου πενθοῦσα 22 ἕως πότε ἀποστρέψεις θυγάτηρ ἠτιμωμένη ὅτι ἔκτισεν κύριος σωτηρίαν εἰς καταφύτευσιν καινήν ἐν σωτηρίᾳ περιελεύσονται ἄνθρωποι 23 οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος ἔτι ἐροῦσιν τὸν λόγον τοῦτον ἐν γῇ Ιουδα καὶ ἐν πόλεσιν αὐτοῦ ὅταν ἀποστρέψω τὴν αἰχμαλωσίαν αὐτοῦ εὐλογημένος κύριος ἐπὶ δίκαιον ὄρος τὸ ἅγιον αὐτοῦ 24 καὶ ἐνοικοῦντες ἐν ταῖς πόλεσιν Ιουδα καὶ ἐν πάσῃ τῇ γῇ αὐτοῦ ἅμα γεωργῷ καὶ ἀρθήσεται ἐν ποιμνίῳ 25 ὅτι ἐμέθυσα πᾶσαν ψυχὴν διψῶσαν καὶ πᾶσαν ψυχὴν πεινῶσαν ἐνέπλησα 26 διὰ τοῦτο ἐξηγέρθην καὶ εἶδον καὶ ὁ ὕπνος μου ἡδύς μοι ἐγενήθη 27 διὰ τοῦτο ἰδοὺ ἡμέραι ἔρχονται φησὶν κύριος καὶ σπερῶ τὸν Ισραηλ καὶ τὸν Ιουδαν σπέρμα ἀνθρώπου καὶ σπέρμα κτήνους 28 καὶ ἔσται ὥσπερ ἐγρηγόρουν ἐπ' αὐτοὺς καθαιρεῖν καὶ κακοῦν οὕτως γρηγορήσω ἐπ' αὐτοὺς τοῦ οἰκοδομεῖν καὶ καταφυτεύειν φησὶν κύριος 29 ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις οὐ μὴ εἴπωσιν οἱ πατέρες ἔφαγον ὄμφακα καὶ οἱ ὀδόντες τῶν τέκνων ᾑμωδίασαν 30 ἀλλ' ἢ ἕκαστος ἐν τῇ ἑαυτοῦ ἁμαρτίᾳ ἀποθανεῖται καὶ τοῦ φαγόντος τὸν ὄμφακα αἱμωδιάσουσιν οἱ ὀδόντες αὐτοῦ 31 ἰδοὺ ἡμέραι ἔρχονται φησὶν κύριος καὶ διαθήσομαι τῷ οἴκῳ Ισραηλ καὶ τῷ οἴκῳ Ιουδα διαθήκην καινήν 32 οὐ κατὰ τὴν διαθήκην ἣν διεθέμην τοῖς πατράσιν αὐτῶν ἐν ἡμέρᾳ ἐπιλαβομένου μου τῆς χειρὸς αὐτῶν ἐξαγαγεῖν αὐτοὺς ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου ὅτι αὐτοὶ οὐκ ἐνέμειναν ἐν τῇ διαθήκῃ μου καὶ ἐγὼ ἠμέλησα αὐτῶν φησὶν κύριος 33 ὅτι αὕτη ἡ διαθήκη ἣν διαθήσομαι τῷ οἴκῳ Ισραηλ μετὰ τὰς ἡμέρας ἐκείνας φησὶν κύριος διδοὺς δώσω νόμους μου εἰς τὴν διάνοιαν αὐτῶν καὶ ἐπὶ καρδίας αὐτῶν γράψω αὐτούς καὶ ἔσομαι αὐτοῖς εἰς θεόν καὶ αὐτοὶ ἔσονταί μοι εἰς λαόν 34 καὶ οὐ μὴ διδάξωσιν ἕκαστος τὸν πολίτην αὐτοῦ καὶ ἕκαστος τὸν ἀδελφὸν αὐτοῦ λέγων γνῶθι τὸν κύριον ὅτι πάντες εἰδήσουσίν με ἀπὸ μικροῦ αὐτῶν καὶ ἕως μεγάλου αὐτῶν ὅτι ἵλεως ἔσομαι ταῖς ἀδικίαις αὐτῶν καὶ τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν αὐτῶν οὐ μὴ μνησθῶ ἔτι 35 ἐὰν ὑψωθῇ ὁ οὐρανὸς εἰς τὸ μετέωρον φησὶν κύριος καὶ ἐὰν ταπεινωθῇ τὸ ἔδαφος τῆς γῆς κάτω καὶ ἐγὼ οὐκ ἀποδοκιμῶ τὸ γένος Ισραηλ φησὶν κύριος περὶ πάντων ὧν ἐποίησαν 36 οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος ὁ δοὺς τὸν ἥλιον εἰς φῶς τῆς ἡμέρας σελήνην καὶ ἀστέρας εἰς φῶς τῆς νυκτός καὶ κραυγὴν ἐν θαλάσσῃ καὶ ἐβόμβησεν τὰ κύματα αὐτῆς κύριος παντοκράτωρ ὄνομα αὐτῷ 37 ἐὰν παύσωνται οἱ νόμοι οὗτοι ἀπὸ προσώπου μου φησὶν κύριος καὶ τὸ γένος Ισραηλ παύσεται γενέσθαι ἔθνος κατὰ πρόσωπόν μου πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας 38 ἰδοὺ ἡμέραι ἔρχονται φησὶν κύριος καὶ οἰκοδομηθήσεται πόλις τῷ κυρίῳ ἀπὸ πύργου Αναμεηλ ἕως πύλης τῆς γωνίας 39 καὶ ἐξελεύσεται ἡ διαμέτρησις αὐτῆς ἀπέναντι αὐτῶν ἕως βουνῶν Γαρηβ καὶ περικυκλωθήσεται κύκλῳ ἐξ ἐκλεκτῶν λίθων 40 καὶ πάντες ασαρημωθ ἕως ναχαλ Κεδρων ἕως γωνίας πύλης ἵππων ἀνατολῆς ἁγίασμα τῷ κυρίῳ καὶ οὐκέτι οὐ μὴ ἐκλίπῃ καὶ οὐ μὴ καθαιρεθῇ ἕως τοῦ αἰῶνος | 1 At that time, says the Lord, I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be my people. 2 Thus says the Lord: The people that were left and escaped from the sword, found grace in the desert: Israel shall go to his rest. 3 The Lord has appeared from afar to me. Yea I have loved you with an everlasting love, therefore have I drawn you, taking pity on you. 4 And I will build you again, and you shall be built, O virgin of Israel: you shall again be adorned with your timbrels, and shall go forth in the dances of them that make merry. 5 You shall yet plant vineyards in the mountains of Samaria: the planters shall plant, and they shall not gather the vintage before the time. 6 For there shall be a day, in which the watchmen on mount Ephraim, shall cry: Arise, and let us go up to Sion to the Lord our God. 7 For thus says the Lord: Rejoice in the joy of Jacob, and neigh before the head of the Gentiles: shout, and sing, and say: Save, O Lord, your people, the remnant of Israel. 8 Behold I will bring them from the north country, and will gather them from the ends of the earth and among them shall be the blind, and the lame, the woman with child, and she that is bringing forth, together, a great company of them returning hither. 9 They shall come with weeping: and I will bring them back in mercy: and I will bring them through the torrents of waters in a right way, and they shall not stumble in it: for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn. 10 Hear the word of the Lord, O you nations, and declare it in the islands that are afar off, and say: He that scattered Israel will gather him: and he will keep him as the shepherd does his flock. 11 For the Lord has redeemed Jacob, and delivered him out of the hand of one that was mightier than he. 12 And they shall come, and shall give praise in mount Sion: and they shall flow together to the good things of the Lord, for the corn, and wine, and oil, and the increase of cattle and herds, and their soul shall be as a watered garden, and they shall be hungry no more. 13 Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, the young men and old men together: and I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them joyful after their sorrow. 14 And I will fill the soul of the priests with fatness: and my people shall be filled with my good things, says the Lord. 15 Thus says the Lord: A voice was heard on high of lamentation, of mourning, and weeping, of Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted for them, because they are not. 16 Thus says the Lord: Let your voice cease from weeping, and your eyes tears: for there is a reward for your work, says the Lord: and they shall return out of the land of the enemy. 17 And there is hope for your last end, says the Lord: and the children shall return to their own borders. 18 Hearing I heard Ephraim when he went into captivity: you have chastised me, and I was instructed, as a young bullock unaccustomed to the yoke. Convert me, and I shall be converted, for you are the Lord my God. 19 For after you converted me, I did penance: and after you showed unto me, I struck my thigh: I am confounded and ashamed, because I have borne the reproach of my youth. 20 Surely Ephraim is an honourable son to me, surely he is a tender child: for since I spoke of him, I will still remember him. Therefore are my bowels troubled for him: pitying I will pity him, says the Lord. 21 Set you up a watchtower, make to you bitterness: direct your heart into the right way, wherein you have walked: return, O virgin of Israel, return to these your cities. 22 How long will you be dissolute in deliciousness, O wandering daughter? For the Lord has created a new thing upon the earth: A WOMAN SHALL COMPASS A MAN. 23 Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: As yet shall they say this word in the land of Juda, and in the cities thereof, when I shall bring back their captivity: The Lord bless you, the beauty of justice, the holy mountain. 24 And Juda and all his cities shall dwell therein together: the husbandman and they that drive the flocks. 25 For I have inebriated the weary soul: and I have filled every hungry soul. 26 Upon this I was as it were awaked out of a sleep, and I saw, and my sleep was sweet to me. 27 Behold the days come, says the Lord: and I will sow the house of Israel and the house of Juda with the seed of men, and with the seed of beasts. 28 And as I have watched over them, to pluck up, and to throw down, and to scatter, and destroy, and afflict: so will I watch over them, to build up, and to plant them, says the Lord. 29 In those days they shall say no more: The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the teeth of the children are set on edge. 30 But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that shall eat the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge. 31 Behold the days shall come, says the Lord, and I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Juda: 32 Not according to the covenant which I made with their fathers, in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, the covenant which they made void, and I had dominion over them, says the Lord. 33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel, after those days, says the Lord: I will give my law in their bowels, and I will write it in their heart: and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying: Know the Lord: for all shall know me from the least of them even to the greatest, says the Lord: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more. 35 Thus says the Lord, who gives the sun for the light of the day, the order of the moon and of the stars, for the light of the night: who stirs up the sea, and the waves thereof roar, the Lord of hosts is his name. 36 If these ordinances shall fail before me, says the Lord: then also the seed of Israel shall fail, so as not to be a nation before me for ever. 37 Thus says the Lord: If the heavens above can be measured, and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, I also will cast away all the seed of Israel, for all that they have done, says the Lord. 38 Behold the days come, says the Lord, that the city shall be built to the Lord from the tower of Hanameel even to the gate of the corner. 39 And the measuring line shall go out farther in his sight upon the hill Gareb: and it shall compass Goatha, 40 and the whole valley of dead bodies, and of ashes, and all the country of death, even to the torrent Cedron, and to the corner of the horse gate towards the east, the Holy of the Lord: it shall not be plucked up, and it shall not be destroyed any more for ever. | 1 In tempore illo, dicit Dominus, ero Deus universis cognationibus Israël, et ipsi erunt mihi in populum. 2 Hæc dicit Dominus : Invenit gratiam in deserto populus qui remanserat a gladio : vadet ad requiem suam Israël. 3 Longe Dominus apparuit mihi. Et in caritate perpetua dilexi te : ideo attraxi te, miserans. 4 Rursumque ædificabo te, et ædificaberis, virgo Israël : adhuc ornaberis tympanis tuis, et egredieris in choro ludentium. 5 Adhuc plantabis vineas in montibus Samariæ : plantabunt plantantes, et donec tempus veniat, non vindemiabunt. 6 Quia erit dies in qua clamabunt custodes in monte Ephraim : Surgite, et ascendamus in Sion ad Dominum Deum nostrum. 7 Quia hæc dicit Dominus : Exsultate in lætitia, Jacob, et hinnite contra caput gentium : personate, et canite, et dicite : Salva, Domine, populum tuum, reliquias Israël. 8 Ecce ego adducam eos de terra aquilonis, et congregabo eos ab extremis terræ : inter quos erunt cæcus et claudus, prægnans et pariens simul, cœtus magnus revertentium huc. 9 In fletu venient, et in misericordia reducam eos : et adducam eos per torrentes aquarum in via recta, et non impingent in ea, quia factus sum Israëli pater, et Ephraim primogenitus meus est. 10 Audite verbum Domini, gentes, et annuntiate in insulis quæ procul sunt, et dicite : Qui dispersit Israël congregabit eum, et custodiet eum sicut pastor gregem suum. 11 Redemit enim Dominus Jacob, et liberavit eum de manu potentioris. 12 Et venient, et laudabunt in monte Sion : et confluent ad bona Domini, super frumento, et vino, et oleo, et fœtu pecorum et armentorum : eritque anima eorum quasi hortus irriguus, et ultra non esurient. 13 Tunc lætabitur virgo in choro, juvenes et senes simul : et convertam luctum eorum in gaudium, et consolabor eos, et lætificabo a dolore suo. 14 Et inebriabo animam sacerdotum pinguedine, et populus meus bonis meis adimplebitur, ait Dominus. 15 Hæc dicit Dominus : Vox in excelso audita est lamentationis : luctus, et fletus Rachel plorantis filios suos, et nolentis consolari super eis, quia non sunt. 16 Hæc dicit Dominus : Quiescat vox tua a ploratu, et oculi tui a lacrimis, quia est merces operi tuo, ait Dominus, et revertentur de terra inimici : 17 et est spes novissimis tuis, ait Dominus, et revertentur filii ad terminos suos. 18 Audiens audivi Ephraim transmigrantem : Castigasti me, et eruditus sum, quasi juvenculus indomitus : converte me, et convertar, quia tu Dominus Deus meus. 19 Postquam enim convertisti me, egi pœnitentiam : et postquam ostendisti mihi, percussi femur meum. Confusus sum, et erubui, quoniam sustinui opprobrium adolescentiæ meæ. 20 Si filius honorabilis mihi Ephraim, si puer delicatus! quia ex quo locutus sum de eo, adhuc recordabor ejus. Idcirco conturbata sunt viscera mea super eum : miserans miserebor ejus, ait Dominus. 21 Statue tibi speculam; pone tibi amaritudines; dirige cor tuum in viam rectam in qua ambulasti : revertere, virgo Israël, revertere ad civitates tuas istas. 22 Usquequo deliciis dissolveris, filia vaga? quia creavit Dominus novum super terram : femina circumdabit virum. 23 Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum, Deus Israël : Adhuc dicent verbum istud in terra Juda et in urbibus ejus, cum convertero captivitatem eorum : Benedicat tibi Dominus, pulchritudo justitiæ, mons sanctus : 24 et habitabunt in eo Judas et omnes civitates ejus simul, agricolæ et minantes greges. 25 Quia inebriavi animam lassam, et omnem animam esurientem saturavi. 26 Ideo quasi de somno suscitatus sum : et vidi, et somnus meus dulcis mihi. 27 Ecce dies veniunt, dicit Dominus, et seminabo domum Israël et domum Juda semine hominum et semine jumentorum. 28 Et sicut vigilavi super eos ut evellerem, et demolirer, et dissiparem, et disperderem, et affligerem, sic vigilabo super eos ut ædificem et plantem, ait Dominus. 29 In diebus illis non dicent ultra : Patres comederunt uvam acerbam, et dentes filiorum obstupuerunt. 30 Sed unusquisque in iniquitate sua morietur : omnis homo qui comederit uvam acerbam, obstupescent dentes ejus. 31 Ecce dies venient, dicit Dominus, et feriam domui Israël et domui Juda fœdus novum, 32 non secundum pactum quod pepigi cum patribus eorum in die qua apprehendi manum eorum ut educerem eos de terra Ægypti, pactum quod irritum fecerunt : et ego dominatus sum eorum, dicit Dominus. 33 Sed hoc erit pactum quod feriam cum domo Israël post dies illos, dicit Dominus : dabo legem meam in visceribus eorum, et in corde eorum scribam eam, et ero eis in Deum, et ipsi erunt mihi in populum : 34 et non docebit ultra vir proximum suum et vir fratrem suum, dicens : Cognosce Dominum : omnes enim cognoscent me, a minimo eorum usque ad maximum, ait Dominus : quia propitiabor iniquitati eorum, et peccati eorum non memorabor amplius. 35 Hæc dicit Dominus qui dat solem in lumine diei, ordinem lunæ et stellarum in lumine noctis : qui turbat mare, et sonant fluctus ejus : Dominus exercituum nomen illi : 36 Si defecerint leges istæ coram me, dicit Dominus, tunc et semen Israël deficiet, ut non sit gens coram me cunctis diebus. 37 Hæc dicit Dominus : Si mensurari potuerint cæli sursum, et investigari fundamenta terræ deorsum, et ego abjiciam universum semen Israël, propter omnia quæ fecerunt, dicit Dominus. 38 Ecce dies veniunt, dicit Dominus, et ædificabitur civitas Domino, a turre Hananeel usque ad portam anguli. 39 Et exibit ultra norma mensuræ in conspectu ejus super collem Gareb, et circuibit Goatha, 40 et omnem vallem cadaverum, et cineris, et universam regionem mortis usque ad torrentem Cedron, et usque ad angulum portæ equorum orientalis, Sanctum Domini : non evelletur, et non destruetur ultra in perpetuum. |
