| 2 ὃν τρόπον ἐπιποθεῖ ἡ ἔλαφος ἐπὶ τὰς πηγὰς τῶν ὑδάτων οὕτως ἐπιποθεῖ ἡ ψυχή μου πρὸς σέ ὁ θεός 3 ἐδίψησεν ἡ ψυχή μου πρὸς τὸν θεὸν τὸν ζῶντα πότε ἥξω καὶ ὀφθήσομαι τῷ προσώπῳ τοῦ θεοῦ 4 ἐγενήθη μοι τὰ δάκρυά μου ἄρτος ἡμέρας καὶ νυκτὸς ἐν τῷ λέγεσθαί μοι καθ' ἑκάστην ἡμέραν ποῦ ἐστιν ὁ θεός σου 5 ταῦτα ἐμνήσθην καὶ ἐξέχεα ἐπ' ἐμὲ τὴν ψυχήν μου ὅτι διελεύσομαι ἐν τόπῳ σκηνῆς θαυμαστῆς ἕως τοῦ οἴκου τοῦ θεοῦ ἐν φωνῇ ἀγαλλιάσεως καὶ ἐξομολογήσεως ἤχου ἑορτάζοντος 6 ἵνα τί περίλυπος εἶ ψυχή καὶ ἵνα τί συνταράσσεις με ἔλπισον ἐπὶ τὸν θεόν ὅτι ἐξομολογήσομαι αὐτῷ σωτήριον τοῦ προσώπου μου ὁ θεός μου 7 πρὸς ἐμαυτὸν ἡ ψυχή μου ἐταράχθη διὰ τοῦτο μνησθήσομαί σου ἐκ γῆς Ιορδάνου καὶ Ερμωνιιμ ἀπὸ ὄρους μικροῦ 8 ἄβυσσος ἄβυσσον ἐπικαλεῖται εἰς φωνὴν τῶν καταρρακτῶν σου πάντες οἱ μετεωρισμοί σου καὶ τὰ κύματά σου ἐπ' ἐμὲ διῆλθον 9 ἡμέρας ἐντελεῖται κύριος τὸ ἔλεος αὐτοῦ καὶ νυκτὸς ᾠδὴ παρ' ἐμοί προσευχὴ τῷ θεῷ τῆς ζωῆς μου 10 ἐρῶ τῷ θεῷ ἀντιλήμπτωρ μου εἶ διὰ τί μου ἐπελάθου ἵνα τί σκυθρωπάζων πορεύομαι ἐν τῷ ἐκθλίβειν τὸν ἐχθρόν μου 11 ἐν τῷ καταθλάσαι τὰ ὀστᾶ μου ὠνείδισάν με οἱ θλίβοντές με ἐν τῷ λέγειν αὐτούς μοι καθ' ἑκάστην ἡμέραν ποῦ ἐστιν ὁ θεός σου 12 ἵνα τί περίλυπος εἶ ψυχή καὶ ἵνα τί συνταράσσεις με ἔλπισον ἐπὶ τὸν θεόν ὅτι ἐξομολογήσομαι αὐτῷ ἡ σωτηρία τοῦ προσώπου μου ὁ θεός μου | 2 As the hart pants after the fountains of water; so my soul pants after you, O God. 3 My soul has thirsted after the strong living God; when shall I come and appear before the face of God? 4 My tears have been my bread day and night, whilst it is said to me daily: Where is your God? 5 These things I remembered, and poured out my soul in me: for I shall go over into the place of the wonderful tabernacle, even to the house of God: With the voice of joy and praise; the noise of one feasting. 6 Why are you sad, O my soul? And why do you trouble me? Hope in God, for I will still give praise to him: the salvation of my countenance, 7 and my God. My soul is troubled within my self: therefore will I remember you from the land of Jordan and Hermoniim, from the little hill. 8 Deep calls on deep, at the noise of your flood-gates. All your heights and your billows have passed over me. 9 In the daytime the Lord has commanded his mercy; and a canticle to him in the night. With me is prayer to the God of my life. 10 I will say to God: You are my support. Why have you forgotten me? And why go I mourning, whilst my enemy afflicts me? 11 Whilst my bones are broken, my enemies who trouble me have reproached me; Whilst they say to me day be day: Where is your God? 12 Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why do you disquiet me? Hope in God, for I will still give praise to him: the salvation of my countenance, and my God. 6 Quare tristis es, anima mea? et quare conturbas me? Spera in Deo, quoniam adhuc confitebor illi, salutare vultus mei, 7 et Deus meus. Ad meipsum anima mea conturbata est : propterea memor ero tui de terra Jordanis et Hermoniim a monte modico. 8 Abyssus abyssum invocat, in voce cataractarum tuarum; omnia excelsa tua, et fluctus tui super me transierunt. 9 In die mandavit Dominus misericordiam suam, et nocte canticum ejus; apud me oratio Deo vitæ meæ. 10 Dicam Deo : Susceptor meus es; quare oblitus es mei? et quare contristatus incedo, dum affligit me inimicus? 11 Dum confringuntur ossa mea, exprobraverunt mihi qui tribulant me inimici mei, dum dicunt mihi per singulos dies : Ubi est Deus tuus? 12 Quare tristis es, anima mea? et quare conturbas me? Spera in Deo, quoniam adhuc confitebor illi, salutare vultus mei, et Deus meus. |
